Production processes in different industry branches are increasing the use of more complex equipment composed by mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, which interact with each other to make production systems more flexible, versatile, safer, and reliable and low power consumption.
Mechatronics links the design and the manufacturing of a new generation of products or intelligent systems which include hybrid mechanical and high precision electronical functions.
The Fundació CIM works to solve manufacturing processes control problems, materials handling, automation processes for mass manufacturing of products through the application of sensors, mechanical devices, computer aided design and systems analysis.
