Barcelona Moon Team: Exploring California
Carlos Garcia, our Surface Operations Manager, visited several space companies in California to explore possibilities of collaboration. All of them have great expertise in some of the critical systems to accomplish by our mission.

The first of the companies visited was an enterprise specialised in Space Qualified cameras. Their wonderful equipment is rugged, small and light, the perfect choice for a space project.
The second was a company working in Holograms. This technology is not directly developed for space but the team will run some commercial actions that might use it.
The third visit brought Carlos to a solar panels company. Solar energy is one of the main sources of energy for our mission. Hence to have reliable and high efficiency panels are of utmost importance. The company visited could offer exactly what we were looking for.
The fourth company produces deployment systems which could be used to unfold antennas, solar panels or to move cameras.
The fifth visit was to a company specialized in cameras and data acquisition systems. There are many satellites over our heads which have equipment from this company. Their products have been tested in space and extreme conditions many times and they can offer very reliable and high end systems.
Finally some informal meetings were made with companies developing guidance navigation and control systems, which proved the trip to be not just as good as expected but even better.
