The UPC opens its doors to the Chinese community

UPC organizes an open day for Chinese students with the aim of bringing the University to the Chinese community and promote technical careers among students coming from secondary schools in Catalonia.



Chinese immigrants are the most numerous in Catalonia, for this reason, the UPC has organized a visit to South Campus and North of Barcelona with the aim to promote the University and his studies among the students who currently teaching career secondary schools or institutes Catalans.


On Wednesday, at 16 hours, the Vice President of International Policy of the UPC, Louis Torres, will welcome students and students participating in the conference with their families. The event will be attended by representatives of the Casa Asia in Barcelona, Ana Martinez and Gaëlle Patin. In addition, Chinese students at the School of Building Construction of Barcelona (EPSEB) Weiliang Wang will attend the reception.


Then the young students and students, organized groups visit different sites and laboratories in North and South Campus of the UPC, such as the White Room of the School of Telecommunications in Barcelona, the robotics laboratory of K2M, Enjoy EPSEB the Workshop, the new library at the School of Architecture of Barcelona and the Laboratory of Elasticity and Strength of Materials of the School of Engineering of Barcelona.


In 2009-10, there are ten students and students enrolled in masters or doctoral programs UPC mobility between the University and China.
